Fair Market Value
The price equipment could be rented or sold for in a transaction between
unrelated parties. The fair market value is determined by the lessor at
the end of the lease term.
Fax Management Button
Permits one-touch transfer of fax calls to a fax machine.
FCC
The Federal Communications Commission was established by the Communications
Act of 1934. The FCC is responsible for regulating interstate and international
communications by radio, television, wire, satellite and cable.
Fiber Optic
Refers to both the medium and the technology associated with the transmission
of information as light impulses along a glass or plastic wire or fiber.
Fiber optic wire carries much more information than conventional copper
wire and is far less subject to electromagnetic interference.
File Transfer Protocol (FTP)
The simplest way to exchange files between computers on the Internet.
FTP allows you download Web page files, programs and other files to your
computer from other servers
Firewall
A combination of hardware and software that protects the resources of
a private network from users from other networks.
Frame Relay
A high-speed packet-switching protocol designed for cost-efficient data
transmission between local area networks (LANs) and between end-points
in a wide area network (WAN). Frame relay is the most efficient technology
for realtime voice and video.
